About Margaret Walker Alexander Library
The Margaret Walker Alexander Library, conveniently located on Robinson Street, is named for Mississippi author Margaret Walker Alexander, author of the novel Jubilee and poetry book For My People, among other books.
Literature Center
The library houses the Margaret Walker African American Literature Center, which contains a wide variety of literature and books about the African American cultural experience.
Children’s Area
The library features an area for children with three animal murals to enjoy

Several exhibit cases about the life and work of Margaret Walker Alexander are on display.
